MDCC Boxing Day Ten

Santa's Sweep The Board
On a snow bound morning at our Boxing Day '10' who better to go away with the lion's share of the prizes but MDCC's not one but two Santa's Mark and Vince Dewey.
There were worries the event wouldn't go ahead as the roads froze over on Christmas night but the fairy at the top of the Christmas tree came good and granted our wish of a quick thaw at the stroke of midnight.

12 riders braved the morning including new Club signing Jorg James. plus riders from Eton Tri Club, TVT, Hillingdon CC and a pair of CTI's.

Mark and Vince were triumphant in both the 2-up section and the fancy dress section. Their stunning Santa costumes complete with belts and Vince's beard [ Mark could only manage a 5 o'clock shadow] saw off some determined competition from Andrew Payne with antlers and tinsel together with assorted Santa helmets from other riders.

Sam Hilton was fastest senior with a very creditable '28' while Andrew Payne took the Vet's prize. He now intends wearing his antlers all season as they seemed to have a marked beneficial aerodynamic effect.

We were pleased to have visiting lady rider Louise McKee from Eton Tri Club take the fastest ladies prize.

Thanks to all helpers and Peter who ran the catering.
