WLC 10 Report

The West London Combine held their opening 10 mile time-trial on the A4 course west of Maidenhead last Sunday (4th March). Maidenhead & District Cycling Club had 6 riders enter in the field of 72, but still performed well. The weather, which threatened to rain heavily that morning, held off until all the riders had completed the course and it turned out to be quite good conditions for this early in the year.
Peter Weir (who recently transferred to Maidenhead from Agiskoviner) placed second with a time of 23 minutes 31 seconds. After the race he reported, "My ride went well, I felt a bit uncomfortable though as it was my first race this season, but I guess that's to be expected and probably applied to most of the riders there."
Danuta Tinn, who'd been unsure of her form after tire problems in the run up to the event, convincingly won the ladies' event with a time of 25 minutes 6 seconds.
In the junior class, Andrew Richardson recorded a respectable time of 28.46.
