Greenland, the new MDCC 100 mile TT Champion

Simon Greenland is this years Club '100' champion. In Sunday's event on the Bentley /Chawton course in Hampshire on a day when temperatures were constantly rising but with a nagging breeze to make it harder on the return leg, Simon produced an incredibly well judged ride, his 20 miles times were consistently at the 52 and 53 minute mark. He was helped by having Paul Richardson in attendance to hand up bottles. He finished in 4:21:13.
A disappointed Joe Francis with perhaps not enough miles in his legs tended to produce variable circuit times and although in with a chance early on slowed in the latter stages to produce 4:33:08.
In third place was Gurpal Panesar hoping for a big improvement on his new bike but who found the distance more than he would have liked to record 5:34:21.

Don't forget the Club '30' mile championships is this Saturday which is going to be a fascinating three way battle between Simon Greenland, Joe Francis and Chris Heape. Peter Weir and Danuta Tinn go in the National '25' championships on Sunday. We wish all our riders the best of luck.
