A Busy Weekend for MDCC
MDCC members have had a busy weekend taking part in a variety of events from the Club'30' Champs to a track training session at Newport Velodrome. This was probably the best choice 'as it has a roof over it' commented Paul Richardson.
National '25' Championships.
Danuta finished 16th in the Norfolk based event in 1:1:23 to Julia Shaw's amazing 55:18. Pete Weir turned in a 56:35 to Michael Hutchinson's staggering 48:23.
Danuta was disappointed with her ride, although there are many in the club would have been very pleased to do a '1'. She feels she didn't go hard enough into the head win out to the turn and so lost quite a lot of time there. Her team did however come home with the Ladies prize.
Windsor Great Park Breast Cancer Charity Walk
We were pleased to have Derek and Samantha Cockerton support this worth while event as a mobile support crew on their bikes to the walkers . Samantha tells me it was an enjoyable ride around the Park, although rather wet, and no emergencies to cope with amongst the walkers. She's keen to help again next year.
Don't forget our Charity '10' on Thursday, 16th July when the whole Club can do their bit.
Newport Track Training Session
A full complement of our coaches, John Percy, Paul Richardson, Nigel Shurben and, fresh from his L1 Course, Club junior Andrew Richardson took part in the session today at Newport.
Club '25', Fifield Course
With so many riders taking part in other events we had a smaller than usual field for this afternoon's Club '25'. With Peter timing and Brian 'pushing off'' the event went smoothly until the heavens opened as the last few riders finished.
Fastest was Paul Holdsworth, Hounslow and District Wheelers in 1:02:03. First MDCC rider was Andrew Payne in 1:5:04. Full results on our events page.
