MDCC Ladies and Junior '25' mile TT Championships

MDCC Ladies '25' mile TT Championships
On a blowy afternoon today on the Fifield course Linda Regel triumphed as MDCC's first 'Ladies '25' mile TT Champion'. Linda riding a '25' mile TT for the first time maintained a sensible steady pace through out not letting a nasty head wind up Hawthorn Hill destroy her rhythm. She finished in 1:24:04.
MDCC Junior '25' mile TT Championships
Andrew Richardson after winning the GHS heat last week continued his winning form by taking the Club Junior '25' mile title. Andrew started fast and looked exceptionally smooth and fluid in the first half of the race with the chance of going under 1:10:00 but he slowed in the difficult conditions over the last lap to record 1:12:35 and win the Junior '25' Trophy
Senior '25'
Peter Weir produced an exceptional ride in the senior '25' to produce 57:23. He seemed oblivious to the conditions and in his neat tucked in aerodynamic position he cut through the difficult head wind up Hawthorn Hill to record the Clubs fastest ride on the course for many years.
Pete is riding a 12 hour in Yorkshire next and then hopes to compete in a '100' to qualify him for the National BBAR competition. MDCC wishes him the best of luck in this aim.

MDCC Track Points Championships
Last Wednesday saw a disappointingly small number of Club members competing for the annual Club Track Points Championships. Run over four events , a points race, a scratch race, a sprint competition and a pursuit, Shea Hindman won 3 of the events and the Championship overall. A big and very pleasing upset was to see Andrew Richardson, our highly promising junior, win the pursuit round by a few tenths of a second from Shea.
