27 / 28th June Open TT report

Maidenhead riders where again in action in open TT this weekend. Simon Greenland travelled down to the Bristol area for a Saturday afternoon 50mile tt. The journey was worthwhile as he completed the course in 1hr 56min 47sec. This placed him 46th out of 105 finishers. The winner was James Wall from Stratford-on-Avon CC in 1hr 42min 57sec.

Also on Saturday afternoon, Peter Weir, Frank Pressling and Andrew Payne were entered for a 10tt on H10/1, just west of Reading on the A4 Aldermaston and Thatcham. As expected, Peter was the best finisher of the 3 with a time of 20.55 to finish 3rd behind Richard Prebble with a winning time of 20.23 and Steve Golla on 20.31. Andrew finished 23rd in a time of 23.51 with Frank 34th and 24.42. If there’s a team prize for this event the Maidenhead boys look like taking this award.

Like the previous weekend Frank and Andrew were again doing a 25tt this time on H25/1 along the A4 between Thatcham and Pangbourne. Chris Heape was on the startsheet but didn’t show up. Frank completed the course in 1hr 3min 39sec to finish 22nd out of 40, with Andrew stopping after 10 miles with a series of feeble excuses.
