Timetrials on consecutive days

Over the weekend of 20th/21st June, Andrew Payne and Frank Plessling both decided to enter the afternoon 10mile tt on the H10/8 course at Bentley on the Saturday and follow this up with a 25mile TT on the H25/8 also at Bentley early on the Sunday morning. This was in addition to taking part in the club 10tt on Thursday evening.

On Saturday Frank completed the 10tt with a time of 24min 19sec which he felt was an ok(ish) time and Andrew in a time of 23min 9 sec. Despite being 38sec quicker than his previous best time Andrew was frustrated by missing out on a 22min time. 10 seconds can be quiet a gap to bridge.

So Sunday arrived with both riders thinking 17 hours was more than enough time to fully recovery for the 25tt. The pressure was on Frank as he was rider no 60 which implied he was one of the top seeds, although he was not sure what he had done to deserve this honour. Frank completed the course in 1hr 3min 43sec with Andrew coming in with 1hr 1min 1sec. Both riders felt they suffered with the affects of the 10tt from Saturday. The general opinion amongst riders was that the moderate NW wind hindered progress by up to 2 mins.

Both Frank and Andrew appear to enjoy doing tt on consecutive days as they've both entered the Reading CC H10/1 event next Saturday pm and the Reading H25/1 event on the Sunday am. On Saturday the pair will be joined by Peter Weir, with Chris Heape taking part Sunday. Can the Maidenhead boys win the team prize on both days?
