MDCC Members in Windsor Triathlon 14/6/09

In ideal weather conditions 5 MDCC club members took part in the Windsor Triathlon on Sunday. Our 3 senior men taking part produced terrific performances with Chris Taylor who won the Club '10' last Thursday coming home first of the three in 2:13:01 to finish 26th overall. Austin Swain was close behind in 2:13:57 after a superb swim [ 31st overall] and only 30 seconds later was Anthony Cooper in 2:14:27 [38th overall] who while leading Chris after the swim and cycle lost out in the run.
Gervase Foley, one of our two ladies taking part, put in a fast swim but suffered in the later stages to finish in 2:50:58. Kate Hunt took part in the shorter sprint event and produced an excellent result being first vet women to finish in 1:36:23 and second woman overall . Kate's brilliant cycle section she put down to going out on our fast club run from Birds Hill.
