Maidenhead loose inter-club 10tt by an unfair scoring system

On Tuesday evening 7 Maidenhead riders turned up at Longwick for what is now becoming an annual 10tt challenge against the High Wycombe club. Despite strong performance by all 7 riders the Maidenhead boys lost by a combined time of 4minutes which was better than expected with the scoring system being used. All our 7 riders times counted against the 1st 7 High Wycombe riders to finish. With Maidenhead being represented by a cross section of the clubs ability the odds were always stack against them.
On a positive note everyone was very welcoming and a good spread for free food and drink was provided posted race. During the evening the High Wycombe club were presented with a cheque from a local councillor which was being used to part fund a WattBike. The WattBike was on display and available for a rapid 1km time trial which several riders tried out including Simon Greenland.
It was agreed for next years event on a Maidenhead course that we could choose a scoring system to ensure we win.
