Charity Ride for Thames Valley Hospice on June 26th

A local cycling club is inviting keen riders to join its 18th annual ride and help raise money for Thames Hospicecare (previously Thames Valley Hospice and The Paul Bevan Cancer Foundation) that provides specialist care for patients with terminal or life-limiting illness.

John Morris, 70, organises the event and takes part every year: "It is an enjoyable rider for all ages and the charity is a good cause which does a lot of good. It recieves 80% of its funding from voluntary contributions."

Riders will pedal 30 miles on a route from Fulmer through Eton, Taplow and Burnham before returning to Fulmer for an afternoon barbeque at The Blackhorse. The ride starts at 10am (arrive 9:30am to sign-on) and is expected to take about 4 hours.

If you would like to participate please contact John Morris on 01753 643594 for more details or email him at pennlodge at hotmail.com

David Marshall wins Westerley CC 10

Congratulations to David Marshall:

I won my first open event on Sunday (23 April), the Westerley CC open 10 at Theale, and took two seconds off my current best 10 time, finishing in 22.01, in cold and wet conditions. I'm hoping to improve my 25 mile time on Sunday in the Hillingdon event at Marlow. (h25/2). David
