January Clubruns

Brian and Malcolm will be leading the club runs from the clocktower on Sunday mornings as usual [weather permitting] . Arrive in good time as they leave 9.30am prompt. Numbers have been sparse these last few weeks so they would appreciate more support from club members.
If the weather conditions are poor check with Brian 01628 631547 to see if it is going ahead.

Committee Meeting 13th Jan 2009

The first committee meeting of the year will be held on Tuesday 13th January. If any members have matters they would like discussed at the meeting please will they let Peter Bell [gen sec] know by Monday 5th Jan.

Boxing Day '10'

Thank you to all the riders and helpers that turned out for today's '10' to make it an enjoyable event for everybody. Although cold and with a headwind back from the turn Peter Weir still managed a 24-59 to win the event. First lady was Rohan Battison in 29-11, who also won the 'best decorated bicycle' prize.
Fastest vet, was Graham Weeks in 25-54, fastest vet on standard was Simon Greenland.

Also present visiting us from Derby was George Mills who first joined the Maidenhead C & A C in 1958 and who still holds 1 or 2 Club records.

Club Dinner & Prize Giving

A reminder that the Club Dinner is on Friday 23rd January at Elva Lodge Hotel,Castle Hill. Guest of Honour is Britisn Cycling's Graham Macnamee.
Tickets £24 each by 14th January from either Brian Simmonds [social sec] or Peter Bell [gen sec]

Boxing Day '10'

We will be holding our annual Boxing Day '10' on the H10/2 [ the A4 Maidenhead Thicket to Twyford course] as usual.
Start time 10.30am
Signing on from 9.45am at the start in Westacott Way.
Riders are welcome to wear fancy dress. There will be free refreshments for all taking part.

Entry fees Seniors £2 Juniors £1

In the event of bad weather [snow, ice,fog etc] check this news page on Boxing Day morning to see if we have had to cancel.

Nominations for best road peformance and best club member

Two of our trophies' winners are decided on by the Committee. The I G Dryland Cup for the best road racing or time trial perforance of the year and The David Addaway Tankard for the Club member who the Committee thinks has made the greatest contribution to the Club's activities over the year.
Any member can nominate an individual for these trophies. Please let Peter Bell [ Gen Sec] know by Friday 12th December giving the member's name and reason for nomination.
