Club AGM

There was a disappointingly small turnout at the Club AGM on Friday. There were reports from the main Club officers showing that the Club has had a reasonable year although there was disappointment that we have not made much progress in getting 'Go Ride' status. It was viewed as a learning year from that point of view.
The Club's finances are in a healthy state. One resolution passed was to increase the entry fees for Club events to non-club members as it was felt it enhanced the benefits of being an MDCC member.
Main Committee Changes: President - Tony Deadman, Gen Sec - Peter Bell, Chairman - Paul Richardson, Social Sec- Brian Simmonds
Andrew Small has decided to stand down as Gen Sec after 5 years of putting in an enormous amount of work. He will still be involved in timekeeping and organising our open events. The Committee expressed its thanks for all his hard work.

Reading Cyclocross on Sun 23rd Nov

A reminder that this weekend is the third race in the new Central Cyclo-Cross League. On Sunday Reading CC put on their Bill Higson Memorial Cross at Prospect Park Reading. It will be the first time that the 'Reading' have promoted the event actually withiin the Reading Town Boundaries. A great first and hopefully not the last.
  • U12 at 11.15am
  • Youth at 12.00
  • Seniors/Juniors/Vets/Women at 13.15

Cyclo-cross can be done on a road bike with knobbly tires, or (for Central League events) on a mountain bike. Note - All Central Cyclo-Cross League events incorporate the Go- Ride Inter School Club Trophy and the Go-Ride U16s Club Trophy.

Training
Graham MacNamee (BC regional coach) is organising a training session on the course from 13.00 to 15.30 on Saturday 22nd. All are welcome so it's a great opportunity to recce the course and get some tips on the technical sections. £4.00

Club Social Secretary

As Tony is standing down as Social Secretary we would like a club member to volunteer to join the committee and take on this role at the AGM on 28th November. At the moment this only covers two events, the Club Dinner and the Beer & Skittles Evening but we would be delighted to have a new committee member with ideas for other events.
