MDCC Open Hilly '30' TT, Sunday 15th March

The best day this year gave us an enjoyable and successful event. The Hilly is a tough course and many riders taking part in one of their first events of the year found it a strenuous start to the season. The winner was supervet Ray Hughes of Clarence Wheelers. Full results can be downloaded from the website.

Many thanks to all who took part and especially to the Club members who gave their time time keeping, pushing off, marshalling and providing refreshments. We had several comments from riders praising the quality of the marshalling and the event generally.

Hilly 30 Entry List

Our 'Spring Classic', the Hilly 30 is held on Sunday 15 March at 2pm on the H29/18 course. The afternoon start is (a) to help riders get to the venue without a 5am alarm and (b) avoid the traffic at the Henley turn that now backs up before 10am.

To enter:
  • You must be a full member of a club affiliated to the CTT.
  • Enter on the official CTT entry forms (scroll down and select "Entry Form (front only)" or "Entry Form" (for 2-up & juniors)).
  • Enclose a cheque payable to "MDCC" for £7.50 for each rider.
  • The closing date for entries is Tuesday 3rd March.
Start sheets will be sent out about a week before the event, and include your start number and start time.

Notes:
  • The start line is 5 to 10 minutes ride from the HQ, so please ensure you leave enough time to arrive at the start before your start time. Missing your start time will incur a penalty and a delayed start (hanging around hoping for a slot).
  • A hard shell helmet and rear flashing light are recommended.
  • The road surface can be quite rough (particularly from Henley to Marlow), so select an appropriate tire.
  • If you are overtaken, please leave a minimum 2 second gap to the rider in front - solo riders must not 'draft' other riders.
