Under 18s Half Term Cycle Coaching + Teachers ACAT Coaching Course

Please publicise the forthcoming October Half Term Cycle Coaching Sessions for youngsters aged 9 years+. To summarise there are Road/Mountain Bike sessions on the closed-road circuits at Minet Country Park, Hayes and Milton Keynes Bowl, and Track sessions at Palmer Park Velodrome, Reading. I would also like to bring your attention to the forthcoming Activity Coach Award for Teachers (ACAT) in Cycling. This is a one-day course offered for qualified teachers interested in developing Cycling at a school site. Schools involved in the Cycling PESSCL programme and/or those wishing to register as a school based Cycling Club are offered one free place (funding permitting in the latter case), whilst the cost otherwise is £95. A kit bag of resources and manuals are provided on completion. Central Region's course date is Tuesday, 31 October 2006 in Reading, with alternatives in Loughborough on Friday, 27 October or Welwyn on Tuesday, 7 November. As there is some prior reading involved applications should be returned to Coach Education at Manchester at least one week before the course date. Full details and an application form are here.

Dates for next year's Coaching Courses are now available on the British Cycling website. You are advised to apply early to avoid disappointment and request to be put on a waiting list for those courses declared "Full" in case of late availability of a place.
